The Body Holiday - Part 1

"Give us your body for a week and we’ll give you back your mind."

With a motto like this, I was intrigued to spend a week with KJ experiencing all the wonders of The Body Holiday

It was a concept that some of our friends found hard to grasp. "You are going on holiday to exercise?!"

Yep! And I planned on working really hard too so that we could really appreciate the downtime, and the amazing food!   What's more we just couldn't resist the idea of that rush of exercise-induced endorphins, meeting like-minded happy people, and maybe picking up a few tricks of the trade along the way.

And if we needed any more reasons, this holiday would also offer:

  • Spending time quality with KJ

  • Stress relief

  • Pain relief

  • Feelings of euphoria

  • Enhancement of my immune response

  • Vitamin D

  • Healthy food on tap

  • Healthy drink on tap

  • Instructors, mentors and doctors to chat to

  • Like-minded people to chat to

  • Laughing a lot

  • Sleeping well

  • Treatments included every day

  • Experiencing new things

  • Learning from classes and workshops

  • Skin care advice and making time for daily care

  • Occasional beer and treats

You can read more about endorphins here. It’s like a drug!

Does this make us exercise addicts? Well I know we like our food so, I'd say we're pretty balanced. We just like feeling alive.

I thought I’d write this blog for a few reasons:

  1. Give you readers an insight into what we got up to.

  2. Share my thoughts about how we could all benefit from taking this break.

  3. Take time to reflect and savour the moments! To keep that holiday buzz running through my body.

  4. Encourage others to set goals.

  5. Hope The Body Holiday reps read this so I get to go again for free. LOL.

Before the off

Prior to the start of the holiday you have to decide a few things.  This really does get you excited.  Here are just some of the things you need to do:

  • Select treatments and times

  • Choose pillow preference from a pillow menu

  • View timetable of inclusive activities

  • Check out not inclusive activities on offer

  • Drool over a transfer by helicopter

I'll be back soon to share what we actually got up to!
