It was a great day to be out watching the Urban Endurance team put some stellar performances in for their first race of the season and make me proud to be their coach.

Joey Rossi took a place on the overall podium and

Georgina Crawshaw was only one place off but took the senior prize for her first piece of silverware (lump of glass as I call them).

Jemma Lowe showed everybody how to swim before handing over to Anne Dwyer and Alex Gulliford went off hard for a few laps to stick with the olympian. We had a few extra lap swimmers as well as some clever drafters (swim only) I won't mention names.

Craig Gullifordput in a monster bike and set the pace for Joey and Simon Ridley out on the course.

Gary Squires had a really impressive day out gradually picking everybody off to finish towards the top of the team standings and in the top 20 overall. There were some great run's out there today James Willisrunning a 41 min 10k so coming nicely onto form.

Spencer Gloyne put in a strong sub 45 run in what looked like a close battle with Stephen Williams.

Stacy Rush was coming into this after doing the 113 recce day in the cotswolds yesterday so fair play and was still only a minute off last year.

Guy Gerrish was smiling as usual (maybe less so on the run) but held on well for a cracking finish. Rod Chapman's first race of the season was well paced which is a good omen for his first attempt at the 70.3 distance in Weymouth in September.

The young lads Fred and Alex had a good eye opener to the longer olympic distance events but show real promise for when the training starts to settle in. Thanks to Craig's Wife Kath for being my transport and getting me out and around the course so I could see everybody, she's a pro from watching Craig in the ironman races, thats a long day getting around the course! Great to see Heather Fell come along to support the team. Well done all proud of you!
